A few days ago I went to visit a very particular gallery that they have recommended to me to go and watch for its particularity and for its history.
GOD’s Own JUNKYARD is a psychedelic paradise of neon lights and vintage signs and it is located in London’s Walthamstow, the gallery is completely filled with neon, each with a story to tell.
Late owner Chris Bracey also known as “NEON MAN”, whom for 37 years has been restoring old disused neon, using old film materials and retro displays. Bracey has begun his career by making signs for Soho’s strip club and brothels. Soon, his talents were spotted by Hollywood, and he begun by creating props for directors such as Stanley Kubrick, Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan.
God’s Own Junkyard’s neon creations are ready to buy as well as just to be seen.
What can I say, God’s Own Junkyard you’re beautiful.
Location: Unit 12, Ravenswood Industrial Estate, Shernall Street, Walthamstow, E17 9HQ.
Nearest station is Whaltamstow Central.
